By 2026, the modern energy landscape of Dhaka demanded a new level of leadership. The conversation was no longer just about keeping up with the city’s growth—it was about driving systemic efficiency and technological transformation. Stepping into my current role at DPDC, i took command of a vital energy artery, directly managing three major 11 kV feeders and their low-voltage networks to secure uninterrupted power for over 15,000 citizens and businesses.

Scaling the Grid

By 2024, the stakes in Dhaka grew exponentially. It was no longer just about managing individual feeders down the line; i was now holding the keys to the critical heart of the city’s power grid. Stepping up to oversee the substations for DPDC meant stepping into a world where a single mistake could plunge entire industrial zones or hundreds of thousands of homes into total darkness.

Keeping the Lights On in Dhaka

The transition from the remote coast of Matarbari to the high-stakes, high-density grid of Dhaka in December 2019 was a trial by fire. At Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC), the challenge shifted from building a foundation to managing an absolute lifeline. Suddenly, i was responsible for the energy flow to more than 20,000 customers, keeping the heartbeat of a bustling city alive through a web of 11 kV feeders and complex low-voltage networks.

Untangling Matarbari

The mid-day heat in Matarbari was relentless, but inside the makeshift office, the real pressure was humming from the server racks and stack of land deeds. It was late 2018. The Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Ltd. (CPGCBL) project was moving fast, and with it came a massive logistical challenge: thousands of families, acres of shifting boundaries, and a ledger of over 52,000 stakeholders waiting for compensation.
